AI engines often cite community and social content: Reddit threads, YouTube videos, LinkedIn posts and Instagram reels. Social Content drafts what you could post on those platforms, based on the exact sources AI is using for your prompts.
Why it matters
Communities are some of the most cited sources in AI answers, especially for "best", "vs" and "is it worth it" questions. A helpful, honest presence in those threads and videos makes it more likely that AI mentions you.
How it works
You start Social Content from a source:
- Open Mentions and switch the sources table to URLs.
- Find a Reddit thread, YouTube video, LinkedIn post or Instagram reel that AI cites.
- Click Generate social content.
We read the source and draft content for that platform in the background. It usually takes about a minute, and you'll see the draft in Social Content.
Depending on the platform, a draft can include:
- a post, with a title and description, or an Instagram caption or video description
- a video script: a ready-to-record spoken script for YouTube and Instagram
- a comment you could reply with on the original thread or video
- a call to action
Each draft shows the Original source next to it, so you can check the context.
How to use it
- Open Social Content and filter by platform or status.
- Open a draft, read the original source and edit the draft so it sounds like you.
- Click Copy (or Copy post or Copy script) and post it from your own account.
- Mark it Resolved when you've posted it, or Skip it.
Draft statuses are Queued, Generating, Ready and Failed. If one fails, try again from Mentions.
Good practice
- Always disclose your affiliation when you post about your own brand. Communities, Reddit especially, react badly to hidden promotion.
- Lead with help, not a pitch. Answer the question in the thread first.
- Follow each community's rules. Many subreddits limit self-promotion.
FAQ
Does Listable Labs post for me? No. We draft the content; you review it and post it yourself.
Why can't I generate social content for a source? It's only available for Reddit threads, YouTube videos, LinkedIn posts and Instagram reels. For other pages, create an article instead.
